HARO Day: Get Sourced. Get Quoted. Get Famous.

In lieu of a Friday Five this week, I’m joining a phalanx of other bloggers, PR folks and social media mavens to say Happy HARO Day to Peter Shankman, whose Help A Reporter Out (HARO) service turns one year old today.

HARO is a daily (sometimes twice daily, sometimes thrice) email newsletter Shankman puts out to share reporter, blogger and writer queries with PR folks. It’s a terrific service, and if you’re a PR person and not subscribing to his service, you’re missing out on some opportunities to place your experts.

In just a single year, HARO has gone from zero to 70,000 members. That’s insane. But now Shankman wants to grow the service by another 10,000 — in a single day. Today is that day. It is Happy HARO Day. The theme for today is:

Get Sourced. Get Quoted. Get Famous. www.helpareporter.com.

For this post, and putting this on Twitter and Facebook, I could win a prize of some sort. I like prizes. I’ll do almost anything for a prize. As you can see.
