Published in Periwinkle Pelican

Just when you thought the Great Cicada Invasion of 2024 was well behind us, along comes a poem I wrote about those pesky critters in the online literary journal Periwinkle Pelican. Check out “Thirteen Ways of Hearing a Cicada (With Apologies to Wallace Stevens),” published today.

Astute readers of this website may recall I posted the poem here earlier. I’m glad editor Icarus Grey saw fit to give it a place in their journal as well.

What is Periwinkle Pelican all about? Grey describes it as “a small labour of love, an indie passion project, and an ode to writers, poets, and dreamers everywhere.” I’m happy to have my work appear there.
