How’ve you been doing with your writing this summer?
If your summer has been anything like mine, your writing efforts may have been inconsistent, intermittent, or sporadic.
Or maybe you crushed it this summer. If so, congratulations! No matter how your writing journey evolved over the summer months, you have a chance to finish strong by signing up for the Mini 1000 this Labor Day weekend.
The Mini 1000 is the fun-sized version of writer Jami Attenberg‘s #1000WordsofSummer project, which I discussed here a few months ago. The Mini 1000 begins this Thursday, August 29, and continues through Labor Day, which is Monday, September 2. The goal for participants is to write 1,000 words a day over five days, to end up with 5,000 words.
That’s the makings of a pretty good-sized short story or essay, or five to ten flash fictions, or who knows how many poems. Or maybe the first chapter of that novel or memoir you’ve been putting off starting.
So if you want to take advantage of the long weekend to churn out some words, sign up for the project by subscribing to the Mini 1000 Substack.
