Well, I’ve gone and created a twitter account for myself. There was a lot of talk about Twitter at the social media conference, so I decided to take it for a spin.
Any other Twitterers out here? Holla. Er, I mean, Twitter.
Update: I’ve decided I don’t like the concept of “following” other Twitterers. It sounds too much like stalking, or that the followee has achieved cult-leader status. Already I’ve signed up to follow 20 Twitter users. I’m trying to refrain from adding many more until I figure out what I’m doing.
I’m on there, but only to secure my ‘bradjward’ login in case I ever decide to use it. As of now, I’m not sold on it.
PS — love the new design. The old template had some weird squiggly on the left side of the header that always had me wondering what it was… :)
I’ve been experimenting like you Andrew. Haven’t “tweeted” much, but I have been following a few folks in the social media world. I wouldn’t advise trying to keep up with every single tweet. It’s more the “river of news” approach, where you just hop in and see what’s going on at a given point during the day.
Not completely sure about the business application of the technology yet, but I’m interested to see what other schools are doing. I have tried to create an aggregated Twitter feed for our school’s news updates and blog posts using rss2twitter.com, but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Yeah, I’m a-twittering, too (I’m bzo on Twitter). I haven’t found a decent business/university use yet, but it’s fun. :-)
