I returned to the office yesterday, and Laura, who is working as a temp writer in our office, was happy to see me.
“I’m glad you’re back,” she said, “because you’re the only one around here who knows how to make good coffee.”
I guess if this higher ed gig doesn’t pan out, there might be a future for me as a barista.

I’ll take a large black coffee. I just signed up for an online project, the Freedom Business System, and need to keep the energy as high as the motivation.
I spent too many years in the military and coffee was always something important. When a new employer sent me to Redmond WA I took some time to walk off the jet lag (I live in France). I made the horrid mistake of asking 2 people where I could get a good cupa and one was a fan of SBC and the other of whoever. I almost caused a bloody war over a question of choice.
Once I got to the shop I asked for a cupa black coffee and the dude at the counter didn’t know how to sell it. I had asked for something that was not whipped, chilled, nor did its name end in …oca or …chino.
I agree with you, Richard. Give me strong black froufrou-free coffee any day of the week. (But, I don’t want to start a war with Karine!)
