Take part in a social media survey

The Society for New Communications Research is conducting a survey of PR and marketing types about social media’s impact on businesses, employees and prospects. Here are the details. Here’s your chance to let the world know what higher ed is doing, or not doing, with/about social media. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.

There’s also a survey for consumers of new media, details of which are on the same above-linked site. Link via Shel Holtz, who is an SNCR research fellow and board member. the society is to present the survey results at a conference in December.

All a-Twitter

Well, I’ve gone and created a twitter account for myself. There was a lot of talk about Twitter at the social media conference, so I decided to take it for a spin.

Any other Twitterers out here? Holla. Er, I mean, Twitter.

Update: I’ve decided I don’t like the concept of “following” other Twitterers. It sounds too much like stalking, or that the followee has achieved cult-leader status. Already I’ve signed up to follow 20 Twitter users. I’m trying to refrain from adding many more until I figure out what I’m doing.
